The village of Yatton has grown more and more with the addition of new developments. The village is now almost continuous with the neighbouring towns of Claverham and Cleeve.

At the heart of the town, in High Street, is the Yatton Parish War Memorial. Built in 1922, it is situated at Top Scaur. The memorial is inscribed with the names of all the Yatton villagers who died in the Great Wars. On Remembrance Sunday, locals march from St Mary’s Church to the memorial to pay their respects.

The Great Western Railway was once central to transporting strawberries to London markets. The Strawberry Line (fitting, as it shares the name of its cargo) closed in 1965. It has since become a popular trail that traverses local nature reserves. Cyclists and hikers can enjoy part of the heritage trail by starting at Yatton and continuing to Cheddar.

The farming community is still active in Yatton. The Village Market is a monthly event that takes place in the Village Hall located on The Causeway. This market has a variety of goods, from fresh produce to items handmade by local farmers and crafters.

The Bridge Inn on North End Road is a popular spot for locals. At Station Road is another restaurant option that has heart. The Strawberry Line Café Project Community Interest Company has run a community café from Yatton Railway Station since 2008. It is a social enterprise that employs adults with learning disabilities.
