What’s it Like to be an easyStorage Franchisee?

The easy brand is really recognisable across the UK. easyJet, the low-cost airline founded by Sir Stelios, is perhaps the most recognisable. The easy logo and vibrant orange branding are familiar: people associate the easy brand with great value, and they trust it.

That means our franchisees at easyStorage, one of the newer, innovative, easy ventures, are a special breed. They invest in our brand, and become its guardian. They go through a process that protects them and us before even picking up a storage box. We expect a lot of them, and they expect a lot from us.

Don’t be fooled into thinking that our franchisees are van drivers (although few can resist a tour in an eyecatching orange easyStorage van). easyStorage has a 5 star Trustpilot rating. We’re proud of it, and our franchisees have to rise to the challenge of delivering that same high level of service in their own area.

Our collection and return service makes storing easier for our customers. The van and fuel are free, customers pay only for loading time. Their items are carefully packed into easyPods which are taken to a warehouse. Customers can later access their easyPods in a special viewing area or have them returned to them at home by one of our vans.

Whilst our franchisees are a great bunch and could probably do it all themselves, that could only be achieved via a time warp that allowed them to work 36 hours a day! In reality, our franchisees need sound management skills including resourcing and scheduling for both vans and drivers; security; making sure we keep proper records; insurance; keeping our HR processes safe and legal; ensuring that everyone knows what they are doing, when; and of course, billing and accounting. Of course, we help them acquire the skills and knowledge that they need.

Yet they all bring something special to the easyStorage family. It may be marketing skills. It may be experience in self storage. It might be investment experience.

We like things done well, done consistently so that customers expectations are met or exceeded. To achieve this, they are given a full package of support, with an experienced Franchise Support Manager who coaches them through startup, growth and future development; a full training package; and smart technologies to support, market and manage the business.  They acquire all of this before ever being set loose on a customer!

With so much going on, our franchisees’ days are fantastically varied. They may be interviewing people one day. Helping customers the next. They may be participating in ongoing training or negotiating a contract. Taking deliveries of packing boxes. Out a networking event or giving away balloons …. This is incredibly rewarding for the right people.

The only thing that defines all of our franchisees is that they are ambitious, hard-working people who commit to providing a great service. Just the way we like it.

We make it easy for the right people.
