New warehouse facility in Uxbridge

In as much as anything can be described as ‘normal’ under COVID regulations, this week easyStorage franchisees combined a normal franchise meeting  with the official opening of a new warehouse facility in Uxbridge, where they learned more about the current easyStorage growth strategy and innovations for the future.

As we’ve seen in previous blogs, storage space is at a premium right now with a general shortage of space, especially in London and the home counties.  Franchises in South West London, Herefordshire and Berkshire will all continue to use their existing facilities but have the option to use the warehouse for nearby jobs and as an overflow if needed.

In Zone 6 of the London Underground, Uxbridge is one of West London's busiest areas, served by both the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines, making it easy to access for staff. It also offers relatively easy access to the M4, M40 and M25 motorways as well as inner distribution roads, making access for our special trucks far easier than in some other parts of London.

The storage facility itself is a 24,500 square feet, modern, high security facility with easy access to North London and to the neighbouring home counties. The height means space can be used efficiently, whilst giving easyStorage guaranteed capacity, and therefore stable pricing. It allows easyStorage to properly use its own easyPods, and to continually improve their design to ensure customers have Pods and space available at a low prices. (easyStorage prices are currently around half of the price of traditional storage.)

Whilst the company founders, CEO Tim Slesinger, Franchise Director Nigel Dawson and Marketing Director Halim Boudami, it fell to Tim to cut the ribbon on the new venture.

I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing them every success.

Meeting Halfway with a Messy Roommate

Living with a roommate has its pros and cons, whether you are college students or professionals who live under the same roof. The advantage is, we get to have someone to share the bills and rents with, especially if you are living in a city where rent is, normally, at a premium. However, the downside is when you don’t have the same set of standards, especially when it comes to managing your apartment and maintaining its cleanliness. You are fortunate enough if both of you are neat freaks, then, everything in your apartment will be smooth and easy. But, what if you are not on the same page? Then, that could be a problem. Having an unhealthy argument is the last thing you want when it comes to dealing with an issue.

Self-Storage: Preventing Hoarding Tendencies

When you hear the word "hoarding," it may sound like unusual human behaviour. But if you dig deeper, at least from a psychological perspective, it is a disorder that can affect a person’s life, be it emotional, physical, social, or financial. The good news is, this type of disorder can be treated. According to the American Psychiatric Association, two types of treatment can be done with hoarding – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and medication, each type applies depending on the severity of the case.
