Holiday Storage With Peace of Mind for Scotland’s International Students

According to government statistics, international students as a whole make up a higher proportion of the student body in Scottish HEIs (22%) than they do for the UK as a whole (19%) - more than 50,000 international students from 180 different countries every year.

And come the summer, they are all faced with the same dilemma: to stay put or travel home.

For some it’s just a case of waiting for that one off bargain flight.

Yet many international students feel restricted because they have so many things to protect and keep safe and they can’t always take everything away abroad or home with them.

For some it will be over a year since they last saw home. But with all kinds of restrictions in place for travelling to and from Britain, and COVID lurking in the background, international students are finding the decision whether to return home or to stay put through the summer harder than ever.

Many have been in touch with family, friends and neighbours for information about safety – even WHO figures on COVID come with a warning, and sometimes the hearsay (like India being a hotbed) simply just doesn’t match the stats.

To add to the ‘going home or staying’ dilemma, visitors to Scotland have every reason to stay put – there is so much to see and do and foreign students are made to feel welcome here.

This summer’s festivals, having been forced to take a COVID break, are back with choices ranging from Celtic music to jazz, blues and rock, and even piping festivals. The Edinburgh Arts Festival and Fringe Festival are unmissable if you can get tickets, and there are world class theatre shows in the Edinburgh Playhouse, the King’s Theatre, Glasgow and beyond. And then there’s the unmissable Highland Games.

Add in all year-round historical attractions, a bit of ‘Nessie spotting, and endless places that are just lovely to be, and it’s easy to see why students are torn. There are the islands, the highlands and unbelievably stunning places to see, to walk, to experience, all delivered in unique Scottish style.

easyStorage Scotland is making whatever international students decide to do a whole lot easier, by making storing belongings stress free. There are price packages designed especially for student budgets, and even a service that’s been dubbed the ‘bus stop service’ for students for keeping their belongings safe over the summer.

In the same way as easyStorage Scotland is making it easy for students to arrive and find their things already here for them, it’s also making it easy for students to ‘take off’ and travel through their summer break.

If it’s in their power to help students with a storage solution, the easyStorage team will, so worrying about where to keep their belongings doesn’t need to be part of the decision about what to do over the summer. They collect your things, keep them safe, and deliver them back. Easy!

The Scottish team can be contacted, with no obligation, for a quote and discussion of your needs on freephone 0333 344 1938 from numbers in the UK, or, from overseas, the Main Scotland office on 01333 406480.
