easyStorage working with local universities to offer discounts for their students

“In, out, in out, shake it all about.”

That’s how many students at universities, including my own sons, are feeling about their time at University under COVID arrangements.

Travel. Shared houses. Student halls of residence. Shared public spaces. Lecture theatres. All have been affected.

Students and professors alike have had to adapt to the new COVID reality and a constantly changing situation, depending on where they live, where the University is, and their own finances. Some students had already signed leases and have chosen to stay close the University even if all lectures and seminars are all online. Others rushed home as soon as COVID restrictions were announced and have studied remotely from there. Some Universities have managed some classes, others have managed the situations completely remotely.  Some lecturers have found themselves lecturing to a physically empty room.

And then there are non-classroom student placements to consider. Some naval and maritime students have been out on boats that they were unable to leave for months at a time. Other students were on placements in places that they had to stay until a small slot arose to return home -  and if that was abroad, until repeatedly cancelled flights became available.

For many students, that’s meant lugging household items such as quilt covers, kettles and more, along with books and files, from place to place, or finding somewhere to leave them.

easyStorage already works with universities like the University of Essex and the University of Middlesex to provide a discount for students who need to store their belongings, either over COVID-driven absences from college, or for holiday periods before new terms begin.

Even though easyStorage prices are already around half the price of traditional self storage, all UK universities can now reach out to easyStorage to activate dedicated promo codes (like HARVARD25, for example) to share with their students.

And if they want to save even more money, several different students' storage can be combined into one pod - assuming they agree to it, of course.

easyStorage can back this discount facility up with posters and flyers for the universities, or even sponsor and attend any upcoming university events.

The discount can also be extended for university staff if they want to use it for personal use.

As part of its service, not only does easyStorage collect goods and deliver back, packaging and packing services are also available.

Students and staff can even get a no-obligation pre-discount quote here: https://book.easystorage.com/

And there’s even an online space calculator to work out how much space will be needed.

Any universities that wish to participate can contact the easyStorage Partnerships Manager, Irene Kapetanaki.

Its our Birthday

Two years ago Tim Slesinger and I sat at a desk in a baron and a bit shabby office with a mobile phone and our laptops (and a kettle). We had our first job booked and we getting ready to take the van out ourselves and do the first easyStorage job. We named our first van after that customer and learnt a lot.
