easyStorage Croydon helped the Wallington Heart Foundation

Wallington Heart Foundation https://www.bhf.org.uk/what-we-do/find-bhf-near-you/wallington-furniture-electrical-store lies in Wallington, just outside of Croydon. It has a store that sell on people’s pre-loved goods, including furniture and electrics. They raise money for the British Heart Foundation to research cures and treatments for heart and circulatory diseases.

To raise funds, Wallington Heart Foundation needs a constant supply of goods to sell, especially with COVID having affected their charity operations so badly. So Manager Kelly was delighted when she received an email from Chris that easyStorage (Croydon) was bringing in a full two pods of furniture to sell on and support the cause.

Chris and his girlfriend have a beautiful home in Wales, but also maintained a flat in London to be able to work there when needed. When COVID took its toll, remote working became more of a norm, and the flat became a needless expense, and as, at that point, no-one knew what changes would happen, or when, all of the furniture and furnishings went into storage. And with the services and prices that easyStorage offers, they were a natural choice.

Fast forward to now, and it’s clear that Chris won’t be needing a London flat again. He asked easyStorage to act as agents for him, sort things out and donate the furniture to charity.

With the BHF being a cause close to hearts of easyStorage Croydon’s Operations Manager, Marcia Hill, easyStorage Croydon’s Franchise Director, Gavin Duke, and Chris himself, along with proximity to the storage unit, Wallington Heart Foundation was a natural choice for the charity donation.

“It’s not something that happens very often, but when needed we like to feel that we offer customer service unrivalled by others, going the extra mile to help our customers if we can,” said Marcia. The Croydon team made a nominal charge and took charge of the entire operation, from checking the pod’s contents to delivery, loading, transporting and unloading.

It’s a small operation that’s set to make lots of people feel good. Not only do Chris and the easyStorage team feel good about having solved a problem and helped a charity, the British Heart Foundation’s successes so far include clot busting drugs, transplants and tiny devices to correct heartbeats. The funds that are raised from that sale of Chris’ belongings will help many others, as well as giving pleasure to the furnishing’s new owners.
