December jobs for Lifestyle Storers

December adds pressure to the spaces we live in. Maybe people are coming to stay. Maybe your home is about to be filled with Christmas paraphernalia. Perhaps it’s becoming a packing ground as you head away for Christmas.

And that’s to say nothing of financial pressures, this year more than ever.

It’s no wonder that according to the American Psychological Association, 38% of people say their stress increases during the holiday season.

Deep breath!

We’re not going to add to the pressure, we’re here to help.

If you have already joined the ranks of the lifestyle storers, one of the many people who use storage as an extension to their homes, you may already be well prepared.

But if not, it’s still not too late to make the most of storage to help out over this period. And even if you have (In which case Santa’s little elves will doubtless be in overdrive), here are a few prompts to help you use your storage well over the Christmas period:

·         If you have people coming to stay, what can be put into storage to make more space (clutter, excess pieces of furniture), and what needs to come out?

·         Could you put all of the empty Christmas decoration boxes back into storage for safe keeping and to create space?

·         If you’re going away for a winter holiday this December, have you already got any winter walking gear, ski gear, cases and winter coats out of storage? (If you saw our blog on keeping a travel case, now’s the time it will come into its own.)

·         Have you taken Christmas goodies out of storage? (Decorations? Presents?) Make sure you have plenty of time to wrap things you’ve been hiding when they come out.

Of course, if you’re still  looking for an unusual gift, storage could be just the thing. It’s the gift that keeps on giving, allowing us to organise and declutter our lives on a constant but low stress basis. And at easyStorage, we pick up and drop off, so it’s a double win!

(No obligation quotes for storage can be found online, 24/7.)

Preparing your bike for Storage

Maybe you’re going off to warmer climes for the winter, or starting a round the World trip. Maybe you’re off to university and don’t want to take your best mountain bike (yet). Perhaps you’re moving to a flat. Or maybe you just want to put your bike away for winter because rain dripping down your neck and being cold and soggy just doesn’t appeal. (We love the winter in the UK!)
