Let's explore the attractions of Bow, and see what else it offers besides expedient storage services.
Bow is a district situated in the east London borough of Tower Hamlets. It’s located just a few miles from Charing Cross. The name Bow is the shortened version of Stratford-at-Bow, a medieval reference to Bow Bridge. This 12th-century bridge crossed the River Lea between Middlesex and Essex. It was demolished and replaced in 1839.
Bow has a long history with several commemorations around the area. On Bow Road, outside St Mary’s Church is a statue of four-term prime minister, William Ewart Gladstone. On the corner of Harley Grove and Bow Road, a memorial plaque honours George Lansbury, former mayor of Poplar and MP. Near Alfred Street, a clock in memory of his daughter-in-law Minnie Lansbury is situated above the shops. This is in remembrance of the 30 Poplar councillors who protested unequal taxation of indigent citizens.
Modernising Bow has taken place over time, like the town hall being built in the 1930s and the upgrades to the district ahead of the 2012 Olympics.

Bow also contains parts of both Victoria Park and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. These parks are great outdoor areas with impressive amenities for locals to enjoy. Victoria Park is particularly famous as a spot for outdoor music festivals, especially during the 1970s and 1980s. Bus routes 227 and 425 venture through the middle of the park with bus stops on Grove Road. Less than a mile away, the 388 bus travels through Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to The Copper Box bus stop while 339 disembarks at White Post Lane bus stop.
Along with outdoor spaces, families also have a number of schooling options in Bow. Schools that stand out include St. Agnes Primary on Rainhill Way, Bow School on Twelvetrees Crescent, and Malmesbury Primary on Coborn Street.
The East End of London boasts quite a selection of eateries. Vicolo Romano on Roman Road serves authentic Mediterranean pizzas. For peri-peri chicken and burgers, Ranchos on Eleanor Street does not disappoint. The Lord Morpeth on Old Ford Road was a regular venue for suffragettes in the 1840s and still emits the same ambience, just with updated decor. Those craving curry can make their way to Original Kitchen on Arnold Street for fusion Indian cuisine.
