St David’s Day: Looking to start a fabulous business in Wales?

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus" (Happy St David’s Day), to all our Welsh readers.

Wales has suddenly found itself a property hotspot, as people reassess their way of life under COVID. Demand for family homes with gardens and extra space for home working continues to rise, and Wales delivers this, with a fabulous backdrop.

The country, whilst small, packs a big punch. It boasts 1,370 miles (2,205 km) of coastline, which increases to 1,680 mi (2,704 km) if you include the coasts of the Isle of Anglesey and Holy Island.

There are three mountain ranges in Wales: Snowdonia (with 15 peaks over 900 m high); the Cambrian Mountains (spanning the three counties of Powys, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire); and the Brecon Beacons, which include the Black Mountain Range, the Black Mountains (not the same thing!), and Fforest Fawr.

Although most Welsh people (4/5) live in bigger urban conurbations, there is plenty of countryside - there are four times as many sheep as people in Wales. The country also apparently has more castles in one country than any other in the world. And many in Wales will tell you proudly that they probably have the best rugby – and craft beers - in the World. (Personally, the Welsh Cakes and fudge are a huge attraction!)

Although wages in Wales stand at around 91.5% of the average for the UK, the average price for property in Wales stood at £161,719 at the end of last year, compared to a national average of £251,500, (64.3%) making for a considerably better standard of living for anyone with a mortgage.

So why would we at easyStorage be behaving like the Welsh Tourist Board?

If you are looking for a great business opportunity, we have one for you this St David’s Day – an easyStorage franchise in South Wales.

We are currently searching for the right franchisee to cover our fantastic South Wales territory, covering from Newport, through the Gower Peninsula and along to St Davids in Pembrokeshire. It is one and a half times the size of most territories at 900,00 plus properties (a ‘standard’ territory is 600,000 properties)

(North Wales is easier to serve with the North West of England.)

About the easyStorage Franchise in Wales

This is not an opportunity for just anyone. easyStorage demands smart, ambitious, empathetic people ready to commit to providing a great service as part of the familiar ‘easy’ brand, prepared to live up to the ‘easy’ values. And they must live within the franchise area.

The easyStorage model means a fabulous self-storage service at around half of the price of traditional self-storage. This happens through great, simple, technology, systems and processes. It means keeping our customer reviews excellent and having the best people on board.

The franchise idea was first pitched to Sir Stelios in 2017, and after the first pilot (in 2018), the first franchisees joined in 2019.  They run their own businesses, backed by easyStorage technology and a great customer service team which supports customers and franchisees alike.

We are well aware that no-one’s going to sign up just on the basis of a blog, so to be in touch to find out more, and even to book up on a discovery day. You can find out more here

Its our Birthday

Two years ago Tim Slesinger and I sat at a desk in a baron and a bit shabby office with a mobile phone and our laptops (and a kettle). We had our first job booked and we getting ready to take the van out ourselves and do the first easyStorage job. We named our first van after that customer and learnt a lot.

Self Storage in London Compared

The self-storage industry is relatively new in the UK. How does it work? It lets you rent a space to store your things and belongings, usually with size ranges from 35 sq. ft. to 210 sq. ft. It is recorded that at present, there are approximately 1,582 self-storage sites in the UK offering around 45.6 million sq. ft. of space.
