Scotland Doing Their Bit To Help Those In Ukraine

easyStorage Scotland and their sister brand Lomond Removals have been offering Transport and Labour throughout March to help the amazing team at Scot Baby Box Appeal based mainly at Glasgow Forge.

This team of incredible volunteers have been sending much needed aid into Ukraine and Poland with the help of AD Transport, Van Aid and others. On top of this they have also been aiding Ukrainian Refugees who have arrived in Scotland so far. Jackie Crawford realised that the Scottish Baby Boxes could be used to transport aid and double up as cribs for the thousands of newborns being born in Ukraine or whilst seeking refuge in Poland and throughout Scotland.

The idea started small and grew with the massive support given to Jackie. The Facebook group exploded overnight. Collection points are stationed throughout Scotland for the general public as well as a few large depots, the main one being located near easyStorage Scotland team, Glasgow Forge. The boxes are filled as much as possible and include either all the items for new parents and their baby or general aid such as nappies, wipes, toiletries, formula, baby food etc.

Alison Black, Head of Accounts, Sales and Service at easyStorage Scotland saw the appeal for much needed transport and knew they could help.

Between easyStorage and Lomond Removals they have collected hundreds of baby boxes, bags of clothing and aid from volunteers throughout the Central Belt (which includes Glasgow, Stirling, East Kilbride, Falkirk, Edinburgh. These have been dropped into the main depot or are being stored at easyStorage warehouse until the Glasgow Forge has more space. As it stands they have had to pause donations and focus on working through all items already given, at depots of Scot Baby Box Appeal or in storage. Volunteers still have items in their own homes which will be collected by easyStorage in due course.

The focus is now on raising money via the Just Giving page for Transport, Food and Water! Alison managed to arrange a donation of 25,000 bottles of water from Ivan, owner of Soil Treatment Ltd. These have already arrived but will not last long due to the volume of Ukrainians needing aid. Already this amazing group of volunteers have sent hundreds of Baby boxes, water, food and aid... let's help them continue this incredible journey!

Its our Birthday

Two years ago Tim Slesinger and I sat at a desk in a baron and a bit shabby office with a mobile phone and our laptops (and a kettle). We had our first job booked and we getting ready to take the van out ourselves and do the first easyStorage job. We named our first van after that customer and learnt a lot.
