Santa's Scottish Helpers

Over the Christmas period, our amazing easyStorage team in Scotland played 'Santa’s Little Helper' with the help of their big  easy orange van.

They’ve been supporting a huge hamper handout to HomeInstead care workers in the Glasgow area and beyond as a thank you for all their support in helping the vulnerable, elderly and those in ill health and their families – extra important this year given the constant COVID threat constantly lurking in the background.

Tariq Din and team team up to deliver

Many elderly people were spending Christmas alone this year, some shielding, some unable to travel to their families, some managing with very little family for support or help. The gifts for the HomeInstead carers were a small gesture, but a fabulous one.

The team then combined their easyStorage resources and HomeInstead resources in Glasgow to hand out chocolates, shortbread and other gifts – hundreds of them - to the elderly in the local community, personally going around to drop these at their doors.

Our easyStorage franchisees make ours a caring business - when people put things into storage it’s usually because those things matter to them professionally or personally. Along with happier reasons like moving in together, new homes, new jobs, trips around the World, there can often be a sad story behind those belongings: deaths; moving people into hospitals homes or hospices; divorces; company closures; downsizing…. The list is endless.

In addition to their abilities to run a business, our easyStorage franchisees and their teams are chosen, in part, for their ability to empathise, to care about what happens to the belongings we take for safekeeping and about how they’re handled.

We’re therefore really proud of Tariq and his team at easyStorage Scotland for the community feel they’re creating, and look forward to bringing you more of their exploits shortly.

Why consider a small space rather than the big ones?

With everything becoming expensive nowadays, it is very important to become more resourceful, efficient, and practical, especially with your spending attitude. We don’t want to end up being tied up in debts just to keep with our wants over our needs. A shelter (house, studio, apartment, etc.), for example, is considered as a need for a person to survive. It’s only fair that we spend a chunk of our budget on it but it doesn’t mean we should get spaces that are beyond our budget capability. There are lots of available "small" spaces that are within our budget and can still sustain our need for shelter. We only have to be creative in maximising these spaces. Discover the gems hidden in living in small spaces.
