Meet Nitin Ruparelia: The Product Manager at easyStorage

easyStorage is proud to welcome aboard new Product Manager Nitin Ruparelia.

Nitin is one of those rare people who understands both business (he studied at business school in Copenhagen, Denmark) and technology, and he has a fascination with how humans interact with technology. That’s a huge bonus for easyStorage, and one of the reasons the company lured him away from his last post.

Nitin is driven by continuously improving, innovating, creating and executing on digital solutions that benefit customers, so he is a great fit for easyStorage.

His new role as Product Manager is to look at the three parts of easyStorage systems – the parts the franchisees use, our Sales Solutions Specialists use and the parts that customers use. The company (easyStorage) is young, but established enough to have tested its systems thoroughly. The learning from existing use and desire to constantly improve, in addition to the company’s philosophy of making things as simple (easy!) as possible, means that his role is both a fabulous opportunity and a challenge.

He hs already been fully thrown in at the deep end, jumping in the van to spend a day loading and getting firsthand experience of how all the easystorage systems work. He actually ended up on a job which consisting of parking in the middle of Carnaby Street, they had to empty out the Museum of Youth Culture pop-up. Which even included a car featured in popular programme The Inbetweeners!

Nitin speaks English, Danish and Gujarati fluently, as well as understanding various other Indian languages, Swedish and Norwegian and some German. This linguistic and cultural awareness will stand him in great stead not only for understanding customers in the UK, but when the company starts to expand into new and overseas markets.

Born in Denmark, Nitin’s wife is British and they have chosen to settle here. Nitin came here from Denmark where he had worked with the telecoms company Nuuday, the largest telco in Denmark. (It provides mobile, broadband and tv solutions). He was there for five years.

Nitin is passionate about basketball and keeping fit. Basketball’s not as popular in the UK as in the US, so whilst he loves watching it on television, time differences make it harder – but he catches it when he can.

Given the antisocial hours that means from time to time, I personally believe he should let his wife have a dog, something that he’s strongly resisting so far. A number of the pet crazy easyStorage team members might well back me in this, guessing by the photos that they shared for World Animal Day.

So, having probably just made myself unpopular with our newest team member, I’ll try and save face by saying I hope you’ll join me in wishing Nitin every success in his new role. He has a lovely, calm manner and is clearly very skilled, great qualities for someone in this role. He also has a great sense of humour which is one of the things that define easyStorage people!

How To Make The Most Of Your Storage Unit?

Hey! Everyone wants to make the most of everything --- even on spending. We want the best product or service that we can have in exchange for our money. And as much as possible, utilise it to the maximum. Like eating in a restaurant. We want to finish every dish we ordered so that nothing would be wasted. How does it feel when you spend your money on something not worthwhile? Regrets? Dissatisfaction? So instead of being happy, you'd feel otherwise. It's just the same for every subscription we have. We want to make the most of everything we're paying for. Just like the case for storage customers. We want to make the most of every space in our unit --- not to waste a single penny on paying the subscription.
