Lifestyle Storage Jobs: March to April 2023

So Spring is, allegedly, here and it’s time for a good spring clean.  Maybe you’ve even signed up for the Great British Spring Clean.

It’s a great time declutter and to store away heavy weight winter clothes, bringing out the lighter mid-weight ones, keeping, of course, at least one lovely thick ‘woolly pully’ just in case of a return to cold weather, and something very light just in case we have an early Easter heatwave. Why are we sitting on the fence about this? According to the Met Office, two years ago, in 2021, the UK had the coldest weather since the early 1970s and lots of frost, but also the most sunshine since 1919 – in some places more sunshine than ever since records began.

It's time to start preparing for the Easter holidays – maybe for a holiday break, or simply for keeping the children entertained whilst they’re off school. Maybe your inner chef needs you to get out special Easter cake recipes, or you celebrate with Easter bonnets. Either way it pays to be thinking about what needs to go into and out of storage ready.

Of course, your religious celebrations may be Ramadan, putting things away from Purim, preparing for Eid or for Passover – whatever you’re celebrating or have celebrated, it’s always good to put away celebration gear and artefacts – or to take them out of storage.

On the sports front, apart from smart suits and fabulous hat s to dust down and to head to the races, we may want to be getting cycles out of storage, preparing your motorbike to get it out on the road when the weather improves, or preparing to get a boat back on the water – or a million and one other sports that have been waiting for the better weather.

Of course, there are winter sports like skiing that need equipment winterising and putting away ready for next season.

It's not too late to download your Lifestyle Storers Calendar 2023 to help you keep on top of things without our regular prompt!

And, of course, easyStorage is always here to help with your storage needs: no-obligation quotes are available 24/7 from the easyStorage online booking service https://book.easystorage.com/, which even has a handy calculator to work out how much space you would need. Or call one of our expert storage specialists on 0800 061 0491 to discuss your options.

5 Tips in Creating a Workspace in Your Small Apartment

Dedicating a workspace or a home office should be equally valuable as any part of your apartment whether this is for a remote job or line of work is something that can be done at the comfort of your own home. More often than not, we tend to put this last on our list as sometimes we resort to our bedroom or living room as our go-to workspace. But hey, who doesn’t want working at the comfort of your bed with your PJs on while reviewing your business report? Think again. According to Harvard Business Review’s Guide to Being More Productive, “Unless you are careful to maintain boundaries, you may start to feel like you’re always at work and losing a place to come home to.” Working and sleeping in the same area is not a good idea as you tend to lose your work-life balance, which eventually will lead you to stress and being burnt out from work and feels like you don’t have a life anymore.
