easyStorage Essex Makes a Buzz with Road Safety Lesson & Bug Hotel at Local School

easyStorage Essex's latest addition to their fleet, Mopsy, made a special visit to Farnham Village School on the 7th of June. The purpose of their visit? To deliver an engaging road safety class to the students of Reception, Year 1, and Year 2.

The sight of a big orange van in the school playground delighted the children. It was an opportunity for the easyStorage Essex team to connect with the school community and create lasting memories for the students, staff, and parents in attendance.

The road safety lesson, delivered by Ed, one of the skilled drivers from the easyStorage team, captivated both children and parents. Ed effectively conveyed the importance of being cautious around large vehicles like vans, highlighting blind spots and demonstrating the potential risks of proximity between bicycles and lorries. The lesson aimed to instill road vigilance and promote safety.

The highlight of the visit came when each child had the chance to climb into the van's cab and sit in the driver's seat. With smiles on their faces, they honked the horn and explored the van's mirrors. Amidst the excitement, the underlying message remained clear: safety is paramount, and drivers don't have eyes in the back of their heads like teachers do.

Following the road safety lesson, attention turned to the special delivery that Mopsy brought for Farnham Village School. The school possesses a small woodland area used for a forest school, with the landowner's permission and encouragement. Unfortunately, the previous bug hotel and other items were vandalized and burned. In response, parents generously donated wooden crates, which were collected by the dedicated easyStorage crew, Dan and Clayton. They took the initiative to build a new bug hotel in their spare time at the warehouse. Before leaving the school, Mopsy made a stop at the woodland, and Dan, Ed, and Shoko delivered the new bug hotel. The children eagerly anticipate filling it with suitable materials and observing the critters that find their way inside.

The arrival of Mopsy and the delivery of the bug hotel brought about a memorable day for the children and the entire community. The road safety lesson provided valuable knowledge to the children and parents about sharing the road with larger vehicles, emphasizing the importance of safety and awareness.

Traditional Storage Vs. easyStorage: Which One is Better

As Hassan Fathy once said, tradition is the social equivalent of personal habits. Habit, comfort zone, belief – these are just some of the words we can associate with the word "tradition." It is something that has been part of our lives that is so difficult to get rid of. Being open to innovation is hard for people who do not welcome the idea of getting out of their comfort zone. The hassle and inconvenience of learning new things are some of the reasons why people do not accept change. However, change is the only permanent thing in the world. We do not have a choice but to keep up with it. Else, we will be left behind.
