Accessible Container Storage from easyStorage

Time waits for no-one, and hot on the heels of adding a document storage system, our Thames Valley easyStorage team have opened a brand new storage centre in Steventon, OX13 6AP (close to the Abingdon, Didcot and Wantage areas).

The new site has two 5000 square foot warehouses for general storage, document storage and for the company’s signature easyPod storage; and a further 20,000 square foot hard standing for container storage.

This means that in addition to the normal easyStorage ‘pods’ or easyPods, easyStorage Thames Valley is now able to offer a container storage service. In turn, this offers larger storage spaces for people who need more frequent access and more space than within the usual easyStorage system.

Just like easyPod system, and true to the easy brand, the container storage offers outstanding value for money.

Each container is roughly four times the size of a traditional easyPod (the average customer uses 1.7-1.8 pods. The traditional easyStorage offering is safe, dry storage which is collected from customers and accessed (or delivered back) infrequently. Commonly this is for temporary storage whilst selling a home, moving, or following a death or disaster, although increasingly people organise themselves to access monthly and make the most of their living spaces (see The Rise of the Lifestyle Storer.)

In true easyStorage style, the easyStorage containers are not just dumped shipping containers. They are specially modified to meet storers’ needs and offer safe storage. These modifications include plywood flooring, lighting, easy opening, ventilation and extra security.

The site has modern technology throughout to keep customers belongings safe, and includes a flexible customer access system, CCTV, oversight of exactly what’s happening where on the site, and more. The system even allows easyStorage to alert customers if they’ve not locked up properly.

This container storage appeals to people who need long term storage with frequent and flexible access, and there is no need to book. Whilst easyStorage has always had business customers, this new facility allows easyStorage to serve a far wider range of storage needs. This new service is already appealing to those who need frequent access and even to work from the unit – for example a small ecommerce business can now find, package and prepare goods for dispatch from the container - without completely taking over their own home or needing separate space for goods and parcels.

Amongst customers at the new site are people in the construction industry who need to store frequently used, but not constantly needed, equipment; someone renovating a classic car (no welding); a potter; and a double-glazing supplier.

Nigel Dawson, Franchise Director, easyStorage, said: “Our Stevenson site has allowed us to develop and implement the latest technology to ensure a great customer experience and ensure the sites are safe and secure. With the success of the launch of Stevenson, easyStorage intends to roll out easyContainer storage sites across the UK.”

We’d like to wish the team at easyStorage Thames Valley, run by Emma and Alex Glass, every success with this exciting new venture – we’re looking forward to bringing our readers updates on progress.
