Shout For Self Storage: We've Arrived in South Staffordshire, Wolverhampton & Sutton Coldfield

A loud easyStorage orange has arrived to South Staffordshire, Wolverhampton and Sutton Coldfield.

Sometimes when one interviews a high achieving high-flier, it can be daunting. I had heard great things about our new franchisee in for South Staffordshire, Andy Jones MBA. Yet despite impressive credentials suggesting that this was no mere mortal, he’s both interesting and engaging.

South Staffordshire, Wolverhampton and Sutton Coldfield: get ready to see a lot of orange hear a lot about self storage made easy

Moreover, he’s very human:  a keen golfer who loves cooking and entertaining. He’s also a keen West Bromwich Albion (West Brom) football fan who has also only missed two matches this season. (Even in his globetrotting days, whilst out in Dubai he made friends with fellow ‘Baggies’ fan expats.)

He loves general knowledge quizzes, but warned – he’s good! This should be no surprise. His first degree was in law, followed by a role with KPMG, the audit, tax and advisory services firm. Later, as a recruitment consultant for Michael Page, his career took him to Jakarta, Dubai, Germany and The Hague (Den Hague, Netherlands). He used to train people in management and leadership, including the Emirates’ police forces (Dubai and Abu Dhabi). Until the financial crash of 2008, he also worked in property in Mayfair. He went on to do an MBA at Bath University.

Andy is also a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). You may believe many, that toastmasters are the people who stand up weddings and events to keep things rolling along. Whilst we might see a Toastmaster in this context, Toastmasters International is in fact a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. (Andy ran a successful Toastmasters Club whilst living in Frankfurt, Germany.)

With so much moving around, Andy has had to use storage on many occasions, including when he returned from Dublin and rented, in Ilmington, a house stuffed so full of the landlord’s belongings that he and his wife needed storage to clear it out of the way and keep it safe.  He discovered easyStorage, with which he was impressed.  Victor Kiam style, he laughs:

“I liked it so much I bought the company.”

In order to become a franchisee, he had to give a presentation about his motivation, have a well prepared business plan, show a commitment to customer service, show how he would fund the business, and demonstrate clear business acumen. Unsurprisingly, it was a fantastic presentation, one of the best the easyStorage board has seen to date.

Another location added to our easyStorage services with Andy behind the wheel!

Today, otherwise known as the palindrome date 22/02/2022 (which can be read the same way backward or forward), he officially launches easyStorage South Staffordshire, covering the Black Country, Cannock, Dudley, Erdington, Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield, Telford, Wolverhampton, and, of course, West Bromwich – and their surrounding areas.

Let’s give Andy and his team some easyStorage ‘love’ this Valentine’s month and palindrome day, and wish him incredible success in his new easyStorage adventure.

Time to think about the boat shed?

As yachts and bats of all types are making their final trips of the year, we’re all thinking about getting the boats out of the water and onto stands.
